Allesverloren: all is lost

Allesverloren means 'all is lost'. The story goes that the owner returned from a long journey to find his homestead burned to the ground.

The farm was one of two estates granted in the valley in 1704, and it has been in the Malan family since 1872. It is known for its red wines and its port.

The farm sits between Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek West, so it is an easy stop on a day trip to the twin village.

Despite the name, very little is lost here. Ask for the port.
