Who we are
Huis Agt is a self-catering holiday house at 8 Piet Retief Street, Riebeek Kasteel, Western Cape, South Africa. We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at info@huisagt.co.za.
What we collect
This website has no forms and no user accounts. We only receive personal information when you contact us yourself, for example by email or WhatsApp, or when you make a booking. We then use your name, contact details and the details of your stay to answer your question and to arrange your stay.
Bookings
If you book through our online booking system, your booking and payment are handled by that system and its payment provider. They process your details on our behalf and under their own privacy policy. We do not store card details ourselves.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of our own. The website remembers your language and your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. This is needed for the site to work and stays on your device.
Content from other services
Some pages can show a Google Maps map and our Facebook page. These are only loaded after you click "Accept" or the button on the map or feed. Google and Meta may then set cookies and receive your IP address under their own privacy policies. The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web server, it keeps short technical logs, such as IP address, time and page requested, to keep the site secure and working.
How long we keep your information
We keep emails and booking details only as long as needed for your stay, for our records and for legal and tax obligations.
Your rights
Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors from the European Union, the GDPR, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use. Email info@huisagt.co.za. You can also complain to the Information Regulator in South Africa or to the data protection authority in your own country.
