A slow week in Riebeek Kasteel

Day one: arrive, walk the village, sundowner on the Royal Hotel stoep. Day two: Kloovenburg trails and cellar, lunch at The Barn. Day three: stay home, swim, braai.

Day four: Riebeek West, Die Boomhuis and Marras. Day five: an early game drive at Elandsberg, then the galleries in the afternoon.

Day six: a longer outing. Paternoster on the West Coast is about ninety minutes away, Wellington half an hour, Cape Town an hour.

Day seven: the Village Market if it falls on a first Saturday, a last tasting, and a promise to come back in another season.
