Cooking at Huis Agt: a valley shopping list

The kitchen in Goud has a long island, a gas hob and room for everyone to help. Silwer and Groen each have their own fully equipped kitchen too.

For a valley dinner: lamb or boerewors from Deli-co Butchery, bread from Panera, fresh vegetables from The Biggest Little Market in the village centre, olives and oil from Het Vlock Casteel or the Olive Boutique, and wine from any tasting room you visited that day.

On the first Saturday of the month, add the Village Market for cakes, preserves and whatever the farms have in season.

Finish with beskuit from Swartland Rusks and coffee on the stoep the next morning.
