Spring: blossom, festivals and long days
Spring arrives in the Swartland around September. The vineyards push out new leaves, gardens in the village fill with colour, and the days get long and warm without the full heat of summer.
It is festival season. The Swartland Olive Festival runs in late September, and the Solo Studios art festival takes over the valley in late October.
Spring is a good time for walking. The trails at Kloovenburg and Goedgedacht are green and the temperatures are kind.
Book festival weekends well ahead. The village is small and accommodation fills fast.
