Small producers, big personalities
Some of the Swartland's most interesting wines come from people who do not have a tasting room at all. They buy grapes from old vineyards, make a few barrels and sell most of it to restaurants and specialist shops.
The Wine Kollective, next to Short Street, is run by a winemaker and focuses on exactly those bottles: small and lesser-known producers from around the region. The Co-op wine bar on Short Street also pours regional wines by the glass.
Tell the person behind the counter what you usually like and what you have already tasted this weekend. Then let them choose.
Take the bottles home to Huis Agt and do a blind tasting with friends. It is more fun than it sounds.
