The quiet charm of a midweek stay

Riebeek Kasteel has two moods. At weekends the village is busy with day visitors from Cape Town. During the week it settles into a slower rhythm.

A midweek stay means quieter tasting rooms, easier restaurant bookings and empty trails. It is the best time for walking, writing or simply resting.

Be aware that some shops and restaurants close on Mondays and Tuesdays. Check opening days, and plan a mix of eating out and cooking at home.

A good plan is to arrive on a Wednesday and stay into the weekend. You get both moods of the village in one trip.
