A valley made for photographers

The Riebeek Valley rewards anyone who likes taking photographs, whether with a phone or a serious camera.

The light is the main attraction. In the hour before sunset the Kasteelberg changes colour and the wheat fields glow. Early mornings can bring mist lying in the valley.

Good subjects are everywhere: the view from the Bothmaskloof Pass, the church spire seen across the vineyards, rows of olive trees, old farm buildings and the Victorian houses of the village.

Each season changes the picture. Green fields in winter, flowers in spring, gold in summer and coloured vines in autumn.
