Under dark skies
One of the quiet pleasures of staying in the Swartland is the night sky. An hour from Cape Town is far enough to leave most of the city glow behind.
On a clear, moonless night you can see the Milky Way from the garden, along with southern-sky landmarks such as the Southern Cross and its two bright Pointers.
You do not need any equipment. Turn off the outside lights, give your eyes twenty minutes and use a star-map app in red-light mode.
Each unit at Huis Agt has its own outdoor space, so you can stargaze from the terrace, the balcony or the garden without leaving home.
