Saturday morning at the Village Market
The Riebeek Valley Village Market sets up on the first Saturday of each month, usually from half past nine until two, opposite the Kasteel Motors garage near the square.
It is a charity market in aid of Riebeek Animal Welfare, so the mood is local rather than touristy. Expect handmade crafts, local art, plants, homemade food and whatever the farms have in abundance that week.
Go early for the best bread and cakes, bring cash and a basket, and stock the kitchen at Huis Agt for the weekend. A tray of figs or a jar of local honey makes a better souvenir than anything in a shop.
Dates can shift around public holidays, so check our events calendar before you plan around it.
