Solo Studios: when the artists open their doors

Riebeek Kasteel has drawn writers, painters and makers for decades, and once a year many of them open their studios. Solo Studios celebrated its tenth edition from 23 to 25 October 2026, with more than sixty artists and five galleries taking part.

The weekend mixes studio visits with talks, workshops, outdoor sculpture, long-table dinners and wine tastings at estates such as Kloovenburg, Allesverloren and Marras. The 2026 edition closed with a music afternoon at The Valley Potager.

If you want to come for next year's festival, book accommodation early. Festival weekends fill the village quickly, and the long-table dinners need advance booking too.

Outside festival time, several artists open by appointment, and the galleries on and around Plein Street are open most days.
